According to the statistics released by the international stainless steel Forum (ISSF) on July 2, the global crude stainless steel output totaled 11.693 million tons in the first quarter of 2020, a year-on-year decrease of about 8.0% and a month on month decrease of 5.8%.
In terms of regions, the output of crude stainless steel in Europe was 1.779 million tons in the first quarter, a year-on-year decrease of 6.3% and a month on month increase of 13.1%;
The output of crude stainless steel in the United States was 627000 tons, with a year-on-year decrease of 10.9% and a month on month increase of about 9.1%;
The crude steel output in Chinese mainland is 6 million 80 thousand tons, down by about 9% compared with the same period last year, and the ratio of the steel is down by 12%.
Stainless steel production in the Asian region, excluding Japan, India and China, is 1 million 886 thousand tons, down 3.8% from the same period last year, and the ratio of the crude steel is 6.8% lower than that of the Chinese mainland.
Crude stainless steel production in other regions (Brazil, Russia, South Africa, South Korea and Indonesia) was 1323000 tons, down about 9.7% year-on-year and 1.2% month on month.
