Material and structure: 304 is austenitic stainless steel, containing 18% chromium and 8% nickel, non-magnetic and highly corrosion-resistant; 410 belongs to martensitic stainless steel, containing 11.5% -13.5% chromium, with a high carbon content, and can be strengthened in hardness through heat treatment.
Performance comparison: 304 stainless steel keeps good acid and alkali resistance, oxidation resistance, suitable for food and chemical equipment; 410 stainless steel has high hardness (HRC 40-45) and good wear resistance, but weak corrosion resistance. It is prone to rusting in long-term humid environments and requires surface coating or passivation treatment.
Application selection: Priority should be given to 304 stainless steel for corrosion-resistant and welding scenarios (such as pipelines and containers); 410 stainless steel is suitable for fields with high strength requirements, dry or short-term contact with corrosive media (such as cutting tools, mechanical components), and attention should be paid to maintenance costs and process adaptation.
