In June, the North American steel price index of CRU was 148.7 points, up 4.2 points on a month on month basis, with an increase rate of 2.9%, which rose for the first time after falling for three consecutive months; the PMI of American manufacturing industry was 52.6%, with a month on month increase of 9.5 percentage points. Among them, the production index increased by 24.1 percentage points, and the inventory index increased by 0.1 percentage points.
At the end of June, the utilization rate of crude steel capacity in the United States was 55.4%, 1.6 percentage points higher than that of the previous month. In July, the prices of steel bar, cold rolled steel strip and hot-dip galvanized coil in the main steel varieties of Midwest steel mills in the United States changed from decline to increase; the prices of medium plate and hot-rolled steel strip continued to decline.
