ASTM A240 and ASME SA 240 standards jointly define grade 410 stainless steel sheets, which are suitable for pressure vessels and corrosion-resistant structural components. 410 steel material contains 11.5% -13.5% chromium and ≤0.15% carbon. After quenching and tempering, its hardness reaches HRC 40-45, and it has both wear resistance and moderate corrosion resistance. However, it is necessary to avoid long-term contact with high chlorine or acidic media.
The thickness range of the 410 stainless steel sheet is 0.5-6mm, and the annealed hardness HB is ≤ 200. It can be formed by cold bending or stamping. The standard requires the surface to be free of oxide scale and cracks, and local heat treatment is required to restore corrosion resistance after welding. In industrial applications, it is recommended to use passivation or coating, and regularly clean and maintain it, which is suitable for high-temperature wear-resistant scenarios such as boiler protective sheets and petrochemical equipment.
