Composition and mechanical properties of 410 stainless steel:
AISI 410 stainless steel contains 11.5% -13.5% chromium and ≤0.15% carbon, and belongs to martensitic stainless steel. Typical mechanical properties: hardness HRC 40-45 after quenching and tempering, tensile strength 850-1100 MPa, yield strength ≥700 MPa, elongation rate 20% -25%; The annealed hardness is HB 170-200, suitable for cold forming processing.
Hot processing and corrosion resistance of 410 stainless steel:
Recommended heat treatment: quenching (950-1050 ℃) followed by tempering (200-400 ℃), low-temperature tempering to maintain hardness, and high-temperature tempering to increase toughness. Corrosion resistance is weaker than austenitic steel, and surface passivation or coating protection is required to avoid high chlorine/acidic environments. Application: Cutting tools, pump shafts, mechanical protective plates, which require local heat treatment to restore performance after welding.
