What is the Q550D high-strength steel?

Q550D high-strength steel plate is a grade D quality steel with a yield strength of 550mpa. National standard for Q550D thick steel plate: GB/T 16270-2009.

The steel grades are composed of three parts: the Chinese phonetic alphabet representing the yield strength, the yield strength value, and the quality grade symbol. "q" represents the first letter of the Chinese phonetic alphabet of the word "yield" which represents the yield strength of steel; "550" represents the yield strength value. The unit is MPa; "d" indicates that the quality level is D (levels are divided into C, D, E).

Q550D high-strength steel plates are generally supplied under heat treatment conditions, and q550d high-strength plates are mainly used in important (ultra-low temperature) high-toughness parts, engineering machinery and equipment, mining steel parts, etc. Q550D high-strength steel plates are refined by coke ovens or heating furnace smelters, when necessary.
