A633 normalized high-strength low-alloy steel plate is applicable to welding, riveting or bolted structures. The operating ambient temperature is not less than - 50 ° F. The notch toughness of the A633 steel plate is required to be better than that of rolled steel plate with similar strength levels. A633 GrC steel plate is especially suitable for use in low temperature environment ≥ - 50 ℉ [- 45 ℃], because this environment requires that the notch toughness of steel plate is superior to rolled steel plate with similar strength level.
Delivery status of A633 GrC steel plate
The steel plate shall be normalized: the steel plate shall be heated to an appropriate temperature that can produce austenitic structure but not more than 1700 ℉ [925 ℃], and kept at this temperature for a period of time, so that the whole steel plate can be uniformly heated, and then cooled in air.
If the demander decides to carry out the required heat treatment, the A633 GrC steel plate shall be accepted on the basis of the factory test with the sample billet that has been overheated according to the demander's order requirements. If the purchaser's order does not specify the requirements for heat treatment of the sample blank, the manufacturer shall conduct heat treatment on the sample under the conditions it deems appropriate. The manufacturer shall inform the demander of the process of sample billet heat treatment in the factory.
