ASTM A299 steel belongs to manganese-silicon carbon steel plates for use in welded boilers and other pressure vessels. ASTM A299 plates under this specification are produced in two grades (A, B). Yield and tensile strength of A299 Gr. B is higher than A299 Gr. A.
ASTM A299 steel shall be killed and shall conform to the fine austenitic grain size requirement of Specification A20/A20M. The ASTM A299 steel heat analysis is listed below.
