What is Q690CF steel?

Q690CF steel plate refers to a type of steel with a yield strength level higher than 690MPa and low welding crack sensitivity. The same series steel grades are Q690CFD, Q690CFE is developed and produced by BBN Steel Plant.

Q690CF steel plate, also known as CF (CrackFree) steel, is a kind of steel with low carbon equivalent, low Pcm value and excellent welding function. It is generally believed that the welding will not show cracks without preheating or low preheating. In order to further improve its strength, TMCP and microalloying skills are also required; YB/T4137 ferrous metallurgy industry standard also stipulates that its supply status has TMCP, TMCP+ tempering or quenching and tempering treatment.
