Seamless steel pipe often uses galvanizing process, and its galvanizing methods are mainly divided into two categories: hot galvanizing and electro galvanizing, among which hot galvanizing is divided into wet method, dry method, lead-zinc method, oxidation-reduction method and so on.
There are so many hot dip galvanizing methods, what are the differences between them? In fact, the main difference lies in how to activate the surface of the pipe body to improve the quality of galvanizing after acid leaching. Nowadays, the main hot-dip galvanizing methods used in production are dry process and oxidation-reduction process.
The surface of zinc coating is very smooth and compact, and the microstructure is average; Good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance; Zinc consumption is 60% ~ 75% lower than that of hot dip galvanizing.
The technology of electro galvanizing is much more complicated than that of hot galvanizing, but for single-sided coating, double-sided coating with different thickness of inner surface coating and thin-walled tube galvanizing, the effect of electro galvanizing is much better than that of hot galvanizing, so these coatings are all electro galvanizing.
