There are many kinds of elements in steel materials. Such as Carbon (C), Chromium (Cr), Cobalt (Co), Copper (Cu), Manganese (Mn), Molybdenum (Mo), Nickel (Ni), Phosphorus (P), Silicon (Si), Sulfur (S), Tungsten (W), Vanadium (V). So, what are the advantages of each of these elements?
In this article, we would like to anylize the effects of the first five chemical elements mentioned above on the properties of steel materials. They are Carbon, Chromium, Cobalt, Copper, Manganese.
Carbon (C)
1. Increase steel hardness and improve steel wear resistance
2. Increase the sharpness retention of the blade and improve the tensile strength of steel materials.
Chromium (Cr)
1.Improve the hardness, toughness and tensile strength of steel materials.
2. Provides wear and corrosion resistance to steel materials.
Cobalt (Co)
1. It can increase the strength and hardness of the steel, and make the steel quenched at high temperature.
2. Enhance the individual role of other elements in steel.
Copper (Cu)
1.Improve the corrosion resistance of steel materials.
2.Increase the wear resistance of steel materials.
Manganese (Mn)
1.Improve the wear resistance, hardenability and tensile strength of steel materials.
2. Deoxidization and degassing to remove oxygen from molten metal.
3. Greatly increase the hardness and brittleness of steel materials.
