Chemical composition and properties of Q420qE bridge plate

Q420qE is a bridge steel plate with a yield strength of 420MPa and an impact temperature of -40 degrees, which is mostly used in the construction of railway or highway bridges. Q420qE bridge plates are required to have high strength, toughness and to withstand the load and impact of rolling stock, and have good fatigue resistance, certain low temperature toughness and atmospheric corrosion resistance. The steel for bolted bridges should also have good weldability and low notch sensitivity. Q420qE bridge plate can add Z-direction properties of steel plate according to practical application: Q420qE-Z15/Q420qE-Z25/Q420qE-Z35.

Chemical composition of Q420qE bridge steel plate:
C : 0.11, Si : 0.55, Mn : 1.0-1.7, Nb : 0.01-0.09, V : 0.01-0.08, Ti : 0.006-0.03, Cr : 0.5, Ni : 0.3

The performance of Q420qE bridge plate is mainly manifested in lower crack notch sensitivity and better welding performance. Usually the production thickness is not more than 150mm.
