For thick steel plate, there are generally different cutting methods, which are designed according to the thickness, performance and other characteristics of the steel plate.
The thick steel plates mentioned here are basically steel plates with a thickness of more than 50 mm, so only flame cutting can achieve the desired effect.
First, select a proper cutting nozzle, and then adjust the oxygen and gas pressure to the most vertical to the steel plate surface. When the temperature is reached, the cutting can be carried out immediately.
It can be seen that the whole cutting process has gone through a series of processes, such as preheating, high-speed cutting, slag blowing and so on. Finally, a cut is formed on the thick steel plate to separate the metal. The melting point of oxide formed by combustion of steel plate is lower than that of metal, and has good fluidity; the burning point of material is lower than that of melting point; the thermal conductivity of material itself is lower.
After these conditions are met, the best quality of flame cutting can be achieved.
