What is the Q420C steel?

Q420C steel is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel. Executive standard: GB1591-2008

The grade of Q420C steel is composed of three parts: Chinese Pinyin letters representing yield strength, yield strength value, and quality grade symbol.

Q—The first letter of the Chinese Pinyin of "qufu" for the yield strength of steel;

420—Yield strength value, unit MPa;

C—The steel quality level.

When the buyer needs the steel plate to have thickness direction performance, add the symbol representing the thickness direction (Z-direction) performance level after the above-mentioned grades, for example: Q420CZ15.

Q420C steel has high strength, good fatigue resistance; high toughness and low brittle transition temperature; good cold forming performance and welding performance.

Application examples

Q420C steel plates are used for manufacturing large ships, bridges, power station equipment, medium and high pressure boilers, high pressure vessels, rolling stock, overweight machinery, mining machinery, and other large welded structural parts.
