What is the Q345E material?

Q345E material is a low-alloy high-strength steel plate with good low-temperature impact performance. This steel grade is composed of three parts: Chinese spelling letters representing yield strength, yield strength value, and quality grade symbol as follows.

Q means the yield strength;

345 represents the yield strength value in MPa;

E means the steel grade (passed -40 degree impact test);

When the steel plate is required to have performance in the thickness direction, a symbol representing the performance level in the thickness direction (Z direction) is added to the steel grade, for example: Q345EZ15.

When heat treatment is required, such as normalizing, the grade of steel is suffixed with N. It is usually indicated by + N, for example: Q345E + N steel plate.
