NM400 wear-resistant plates are subjected to high temperature tempering at 500-650℃. High temperature tempering has comprehensive mechanical properties with high strength and toughness. In production, the treatment of high temperature tempering after quenching is called quenching and tempering treatment. The quenched and tempered NM400 wear-resistant plate is mainly used for various important structural parts, so that the strength, plasticity and toughness of the wear-resistant plate can be matched appropriately, and it has good comprehensive mechanical properties. Especially parts such as connecting rods, bolts, nuts, crankshafts and gears that work under alternating loads. The NM400 steel plate after quenching and tempering treatment can also be used as the preliminary heat treatment of some precision parts, such as lead screws, measuring tools, molds, etc., to reduce the deformation during the final treatment. The hardness of quenched and tempered steel after quenching and tempering is 25-35HRC.
The structure transformation of NM400 plates during tempering is compared with normalizing. Under the same hardness, the strength, plasticity and toughness are significantly higher than the normalized state. Therefore, important components are generally quenched and tempered. Quenching and tempering is often used as a preliminary heat treatment for surface strengthening parts.
