20Cr alloy steel is a grade of steel for low hardenability carburizing carbon steel.
20Cr alloy steel is mostly used to manufacture carburized parts with high core strength requirements, surface wear, cross section under 30mm or complex shapes and small loads.
After quenching and tempering at low temperature, 20Cr alloy steel has good comprehensive mechanical properties, good impact toughness at low temperature and no obvious brittleness in tempering.
When carburizing, the grain of 20Cr alloy steel tends to grow, so secondary quenching is required to improve the toughness of the core, and cooling quenching is not suitable.
When the hardness is 170-217HB after normalization, the relative chip machinability is about 65%, the weldability is medium, preheat to 100-150℃ before welding, and the plasticity is medium when cold deformation.
In order to improve the wear resistance of 20Cr alloy steel, the mold needs to be carburized after forming, and then quenched and tempered at low temperature, so as to ensure that the mold surface has high hardness, high wear resistance and the heart has good toughness.
For molds with low service life requirements, they can also be tempered directly.
There are also many examples of manufacturing cold working die by using low carbon Martensitic strong quenching in China.
Process of 20Cr alloy steel die parts: blanking - forging die blank - annealing - mechanical rough machining - cold extrusion molding - recrystallization annealing - mechanical finishing - carburizing - quenching, tempering - grinding and polishing - assembly.
