Ordinary carbon steel boiling steel plate as the name suggests is made of ordinary carbon structural steel boiling steel hot rolled steel plate. The boiling steel is a kind of steel with incomplete deoxygenation, and the liquid steel has a high oxygen content.
When the molten steel is injected into the ingot mold, the carbon and oxygen react to produce a large amount of gas, resulting in the boiling state of the molten steel. The carbon content of rimming steel is low, and the silicon content of steel is often < because the ferrosilicon is not deoxidized.

The outer layer of the boiling steel is crystallized in the boiling state, so the surface is pure and dense, the surface quality is good, and the processing performance is good. Boiling steel has no large concentrated shrinkage cavity, with less deoxidizer, low steel cost.
The boiling steel has many impurities in the core, serious segregation, uneven mechanical properties, more gas content in the steel, low toughness, cold brittleness and aging sensitivity, and poor welding performance, so it is not suitable for the manufacture of welding structures and other important structural parts that can bear impact cutting load and work at low temperature.
Boiling steel plate is widely used in the manufacture of various stamping parts, construction and engineering structures and some less important machine structures and parts. The grade, chemical composition and mechanical properties of the material are in accordance with GB700-79 (88) (technical conditions for common carbon structural steel) of the provisions of the rimmed steel. The thickness of hot rolled medium thick steel plate is 4.5-200mm.
