What is the composition and properties of 16MnCr5 gear steel

16MnCr5 gear steel is a kind of special steel imported from Germany, which is equivalent to 16CrMnH steel in China. 16MnCr5 steel has good hardenability and machinability. For large cross-section parts, it can obtain higher surface hardness and wear resistance after heat treatment, and its low-temperature impact toughness is also higher.

Chemical composition of 16MnCr5 gear steel:
(1) The carbon content is between 0.14 and 0.19
(2) Silicon Si: less than or equal to 0.40
(3) The content of Mn in 16MnCr5 ranges from 1.00 to 1.30
(4) The sulfur content of 16MnCr5 steel is between 0.010 and 0.035
(5) Phosphorus P: less than or equal to 0.035
(6) The chromium content of 16MnCr5 is between 0.80 and 1.10
