API 5L grade X52 steel pipe is specified by the American Petroleum Institute specification API 5L, which covers both seamless pipe and welded steel line pipe. There are two basic Product Specifications Levels (PSL) of technical requirements for API 5L grade X52 steel pipe, which are PSL 1 and PSL 2. API 5L X52 PSL1 is a standard quality, while API 5L X52 PSL2 contains additional chemical, mechanical properties, and testing requirements.
