Pipeline steel: the engineering structural steel used to make oil and gas transmission pipelines and other fluid transmission pipelines. Pipeline steel refers to the large-diameter welded steel pipe used to transport oil, natural gas, etc. for hot rolling coil plate or wide thick plate. In the process of using pipeline steel, in addition to high compressive strength, it is also required to have high low temperature toughness and excellent welding performance.
Pipeline steel belongs to low carbon or ultra-low carbon microalloyed steel, which is a product with high technology content and high added value. The production of pipeline steel has almost applied all the new technological achievements in the field of metallurgy for more than 20 years. At present, the development trend of pipeline engineering is the service environment of large diameter, high pressure rich gas transportation, high cooling and corrosion, and the thick wall of submarine pipeline. Therefore, the modern pipeline steel should have high strength, low Bauschinger effect, high toughness and brittle fracture resistance, low carbon content and good weldability, as well as HIC and H2S corrosion resistance.
The optimized production strategy is to improve the cleanliness and structure uniformity of the steel, C ≤ 0.09%, s ≤ 0.005%, P ≤ 0.01%, O ≤ 0.002%, and adopt micro alloying, vacuum degassing + CASI, soft reduction in continuous casting process, multi-stage hot mechanical rolling and multi-functional intermittent accelerated cooling and other technologies.
