NVE690 marine engineering steel is produced by adding appropriate amount of Ni, Cr, Mo and other alloying elements to enhance its vitality and ensure its good hardenability. It is mainly made of tempered sorbite. NVE690 steel is generally delivered in quenched and tempered state.

NVE690 marine engineering steel is widely used in the manufacture of main hulls of marine engineering ships, offshore drilling platforms and oil production platforms, drilling platforms, pile boots, cantilever tracks, pile legs, racks and semi-circular plates.
