1,Differences in definitions
Because the ingot or billet is not easy to deform at room temperature, it is difficult to process, and it needs to be heated to 1100-1250 ℃ during rolling, so the steel plate rolled by this method is called hot-rolled steel plate; cold-rolled steel plate is usually further rolled below the crystallization temperature at room temperature, which is called steel plate.
2,Differences in performance
Because of its high temperature, hot rolled steel plate has small deformation resistance and can achieve a large number of deformation variables, while cold rolled steel plate has more accurate thickness, smooth surface and beautiful appearance. Cold rolled steel plate will not be heated before rolling. And because of its small thickness, cold rolled steel sheet is easy to deform. In addition, the production line of cold rolled steel plate is long, the equipment is many, and the process is complex.
3,Differences in use
Hot rolled steel plate can be used in eight fields. For example: structural steel, weathering steel, automobile structural steel, hot rolled special steel, cold rolled raw plate, steel plate for steel pipe, steel plate for high pressure vessel, stainless steel plate, etc.
Cold rolled steel sheet is often used in automobile manufacturing, electrical products, rolling stock, aviation, precision instruments, canned food and other fields.
