What is 20Mn2 steel material?

20Mn2 steel material has medium strength, and the properties of 20Mn2 steel material and 20Cr steel are similar. The impact toughness and weldability of 20Mn2 steel material at low temperature are better than those of 20Cr steel. The plasticity and machinability of 20Mn2 steel material are higher than those of 20Cr steel. The hardenability of 20Mn2 steel material is better than that of corresponding carbon steel plates. 20Mn2 steel material has the sensitivity of overheating, decarburization and temper brittleness during heat treatment.

Chemical composition of 20Mn2 steel material: C: 0.17-0.24, Si: 0.17-0.37, Mn: 1.40-1.80.
Mechanical properties of 20Mn2 steel material: tensile strength ≥ 785 MPa, yield strength ≥ 590 MPa, elongation after fracture ≥ 10%, section expansion rate ≥ 40%, impact absorbed energy ≥ 47J.

20Mn2 steel material is used to manufacture carburized parts with section size less than 50mm, such as carburized pinion, pinion, crosshead pin, piston pin, diesel engine sleeve, valve lifter, variable speed gear control lever, steel sleeve, hot rolled and normalized bolt, screw, nut, etc.
