Steel plates cutting methods
1. Flame cutting
The cost of flame cutting equipment is low and it is an economical and effective means of cutting thick metal plates, but it has its shortcomings in thin plate cutting. Compared with plasma, the heat-affected zone of flame cutting is much larger and the thermal deformation is larger. In order to cut accurately and effectively, the operator needs to have superb skills to avoid the thermal deformation of the metal plate in time during the cutting process.
2. Laser cutting
Laser cutting equipment can cut stainless steel below 4mm, and oxygen can be added to the laser beam to cut carbon steel 20mm thick, but after oxygen cutting, a thin oxide film will be formed on the cutting surface. The thickness of the cut can be increased to 20mm, but the size error of the cut part is larger. The price of laser cutting equipment is quite expensive, about 1.5 million yuan or more.
3. Wire cutting
Wire EDM is referred to as wire cutting. It is developed on the basis of EDM perforation and forming. It has not only developed the application of EDM, but also replaced EDM perforation and forming in some aspects. Today, wire-cut machine tools account for more than half of EDM machine tools.
4. Plasma cutting
Plasma cutting is a processing method that uses the heat of a high-temperature plasma arc to partially or partially melt (and evaporate) the metal at the incision of the workpiece, and uses the momentum of the high-speed plasma to remove the molten metal to form an incision.
5. Ultra high pressure water cutting
Ultra-high pressure water cutting is also called waterjet and water jet. It is a high-energy (380MPa) water stream generated by multi-stage pressurization of ordinary water, and then passes through a very fine ruby nozzle (Φ0.1-0.35mm) , Jet cutting at a speed of nearly kilometers per second, this cutting method is called ultra-high pressure water cutting.
