The carbon and molybdenum content of 12Cr1MoV steel is lower than 15CrMo steel. 15CrMo steel has no limitation on vanadium content, and no vanadium element is specially added.

12Cr1MoV steel mechanical properties: tensile strength: ≥ 490 MPa, yield strength: ≥ 245 MPa, elongation after fracture: ≥ 22%, reduction of area: ≥ 50%, impact energy: ≥ 71J.
15CrMo steel mechanical properties: tensile strength: ≥ 440 MPa, yield strength: ≥ 295 MPa, elongation after fracture: ≥ 22%, reduction of area: ≥ 60%, impact energy: ≥ 94J.
