Compared with hot rolled H-beam, welding H-beam has the following characteristics:
1. Wide range of specifications (section size). The height, web, flange thickness and flange width can be welded according to the customer's requirements. It can be used as a variety other than the standard hot rolled H-beam.
2. Various kinds of steel can be selected. Hot rolled H-beam steel grade is mainly Q235B and Q345B. When small batch of special steel H-beam is needed, it is difficult to arrange production. The steel plate can be selected for welding H-beam according to the needs.
3. The welding H-beam has high precision and good surface quality. Due to the high precision and good surface quality of steel plate products, the H-beam after welding has high precision and good surface quality also. The thickness deviation of steel plate (used for welding H-beam) is generally from 0.0x mm to 0.x mm, while that of hot rolled H-beam is from 0.x mm to 1mm, nearly 10 times.
4. Stable performance and good internal organization. From smelting to continuous casting to rolling, the steel plate production is higher than the hot-rolled H-beam in process requirements, equipment capacity, control level and detection means, so the internal structure, chemical composition and various performance (mechanical properties, process performance, etc.) indexes of welding H-beam are reliable and stable.
5. Welding H-beam is easy to have welding defects. Although there are many advantages mentioned above, due to the welding forming, there are welding residual thermal stress in the welding area, the structure of the welding area is different, there are organizational stress, and it is easy to produce welding defects. With the improvement of welding level and heat treatment level, these disadvantages are gradually reduced. Now high-quality welding H-beam has been used in various fields including military industry and aerospace.
