What are the characteristics of 2507 duplex stainless steel?

2507 duplex stainless steel is particularly suitable for highly corrosive environments that require high-strength materials, such as warm chlorinated seawater and media containing acids and chlorides. 2507 duplex stainless steel is widely used in offshore oil and gas exploration and production, heat exchangers in petrochemical production environments, and hydraulic and instrumentation applications in tropical marine environments. Like other duplex stainless steels, 2507 duplex stainless steel is not suitable for working conditions with too high or too low temperatures, and the toughness of the material will drop below -50 ℃ or above 300 ℃.

The main feature of 2507 duplex stainless steel is that the yield strength can reach 400-550 MPa, which is twice that of ordinary stainless steel, saving materials and reducing equipment manufacturing costs. In terms of corrosion resistance, especially in relatively harsh media environments (such as sea water, high chloride ion content), duplex stainless steel is significantly better than ordinary in terms of pitting corrosion resistance, crevice corrosion resistance, stress corrosion resistance and corrosion fatigue resistance. Austenitic stainless steel is comparable to high-alloy austenitic stainless steel.
