What are the application of Q235 carbon steel?

Q235 steel is ordinary carbon structural steel-general plate (mild steel plate).

Q stands for the yield limit of this material. The latter 235 refers to the yield value of this material, which is about 235MPa. And as the thickness of the material increases, its yield value decreases. Due to the moderate carbon content, the comprehensive performance is good, and the strength, plasticity, and welding properties are well matched, and it is widely used.

Consists of Q + number + quality grade symbol + deoxy method symbol. Its steel number is titled "Q", which represents the yield point of the steel. The following numbers represent the yield point value, and the unit is MPa. For example, Q235 represents a carbon structural steel with a yield stress (σs) of 235 MPa.

Element content of Q235 steel (Q235A, Q235B, Q235C, Q235D): sulfur content of A, B, C, D decreases in order; phosphorus content of A and B is the same, phosphorus content of C is second, and phosphorus content of D is less.

What are the application of Q235 carbon steel?  

1. Q235 mild steel is widely used in architectural and engineering structures. It is used to make steel bars or to build factory buildings, high-voltage transmission towers, bridges, vehicles, boilers, containers, ships, etc., and is also used in large quantities as mechanical parts with less demanding performance. Q235C, Q235D grade steel plates can also be used as some professional steel.
2. It can be used for various abrasive tool handles and other non-important abrasive tool parts.
3. Q235 carbon steel is used as the punch material, and it is used directly after quenching without tempering. The hardness is 36 ~ 40HRC, which solves the phenomenon of punch chipping during use.
