Generally, the welded steel tube has high precision, uniform wall thickness, high brightness of the inner surface of the tube (the surface brightness of the steel tube is determined by the surface grade of the steel plate), and can be arbitrarily determined. Therefore, it is economical and aesthetic in high precision, medium and low pressure fluid applications.
The production process of welded steel pipe is simple, the production efficiency is high, the cost is low, and the development is fast. The strength of spiral welded pipe is generally higher than that of straight welded pipe, so larger diameter welded pipe can be produced from narrower billets, and different diameters welded pipe can be produced from billets of the same width. But compared with the same length of straight seam pipe, the weld length is increased by 30~100%, and the production speed is lower.
Therefore, small diameter welded pipe is mostly used straight seam welding, large diameter welded pipe is mostly used spiral welding.
