What are operation points of sand blasting derusting for metal storage tank

The sand blasting and rust removal of metal storage tank is based on compressed air, silicon carbide, pomegranate sand and quartz sand as spray materials to form high-speed jet beam, which is sprayed to the surface of metal tank to be treated at high speed, which is used to remove rust dirt on the surface of workpiece and improve the binding force between workpiece and coating and plating material. Sand blasting is often used in the construction of metal storage tanks. The operation points of sand blasting and derusting of metal storage tanks are introduced below.

1. The equipment shall be as close to the workpiece being treated as possible to reduce the pipeline length and pressure loss, avoid excessive pipe wear, and facilitate the construction personnel to contact and master each other.

2. The spray pipe should be straight, reduce the centralized wear at the bending, and the direction of the abrasion at the bend should be changed frequently to prolong the service life of the pipe.

Strictly control the process parameters. The working pressure of abrasive box is between 0.5-0.6a, and the outlet pressure of air compressor shall not be lower than 0.6WPa. The distance between the nozzle and the workpiece should generally be controlled at 80-200mm according to the test spray results, and the spray angle should be 30~75°.
