1. Dust
The manufacturing of pipe is often carried out in the place with dust, and there is a lot of dust in the air, which constantly falls on the surface of equipment and weather resistant steel plate. Cleaning method: water or alkaline solution can be used to remove the dust on the surface of pipe and equipment. However, adhesion of dust and dirt need to use high pressure water or steam to clean up.
2. Scratch
In order to prevent the accumulation of process lubricants or products or dirt, it is necessary to carry out mechanical cleaning of scratches and other rough surfaces on the surface of weathering steel plate.
3. Heat cured fire colors and other oxide layers
If the weathering steel plate is heated to a certain high temperature in the air during welding or grinding, chrome oxide heat recovery color will appear on both sides of the weld, the lower surface and the bottom of the weld. The heat recovery color is thinner than that of oxidation protection film and is obviously visible. Color depends on thickness and can be seen in rainbow, blue, purple to pale yellow and brown. Thicker oxides are generally black. It is caused by staying at high temperature or at a higher altitude for a long time. When any of these oxides appear, the chromium content on the surface of the weathering steel plate will decrease, resulting in the corrosion resistance of these areas. In this case, it is necessary not only to eliminate the heat cured color and other oxide layer, but also to clean the metal layer of weathering steel plate.
4. Rust spot
Rust on weathering steel plate or equipment can be seen before or during manufacturing, which indicates that the surface is seriously polluted. The rust on the surface must be removed before the equipment is put into use. The thoroughly cleaned surface shall be inspected by iron test and (or) water test.
