Can 35Mn2 material be replaced by Q235A steel?
From the chemical composition and mechanical properties of 35Mn2 material and Q235A steel:
Chemical composition of 35Mn2 material: C 0.32-0.39, Si 0.17-0.37, Mn 1.40-1.80.
Chemical composition of Q235A steel: C ≤ 0.22, Si ≤ 0.35, Mn ≤ 1.40, P ≤ 0.045, S ≤ 0.050.
From the perspective of use of 35Mn2 material and Q235A steel:
Q235A steel is mainly used in the production of steel plate, section steel and steel bar, and is used to build workshop frame, high-voltage transmission tower, bridge, vehicle, etc.
35Mn2 material is mainly used in manufacturing cold heading bolts, small shafts, shaft sleeves, small connecting rods, control rods, crankshafts, fan accessories, hoe handles and hoes in agricultural machinery.
35Mn2 material belongs to alloy structural steel, Q235A steel belongs to carbon structural steel. The difference between the two is that alloy structural steel is based on high-quality carbon structural steel, adding one or more alloy elements appropriately, so as to improve the hardenability of steel, and improve the strength and toughness of steel after heat treatment.
Therefore, 35Mn2 material can’t be replaced by Q235A steel.
